8K.PRESS / PURPOSE — v002

Permanent intended public URL:
https://8k.press/purpose

Daily build:
2026-08-22/index.html

Deploy:
Copy 2026-08-22/8k.press/purpose/ to the origin path serving https://8k.press/purpose/

Programming source:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TNE0r0b4Qtg&list=PL2sS6bGk1mzEAx6YdFf3PhHpf96fsCkMr

Notes:
- YouTube's embedded player provides adaptive bitrate/quality selection.
- Some browsers/TVs may require one initial interaction before audible autoplay.
- The page attempts autoplay and shows a full-screen START CHANNEL button only when needed.
- Future versions can replace the transport/scheduler without changing https://8k.press/purpose.

- v002 automatically displays the live page URL in a small bottom-edge overlay for screen recordings.

v003 — REAL-TIME PLAYBACK WATCHDOG
- Monitors YouTube player state/currentTime every 100 ms.
- Soft recovery begins after ~700 ms of no progress while PLAYING, or ~850 ms of BUFFERING.
- Hard recovery escalates after ~1.5-1.8 s if playback still does not advance.
- Displays onPlaybackQualityChange telemetry and browser network-information estimates where available.
- Does NOT claim access to YouTube dropped-frame counts or the ability to force quality; Google removed those IFrame API controls.
- Native HLS/DASH mode is the required path for true frame-drop-driven ABR.
