Hello, I am contacting you on behalf of Open Access Media Lab dba CareTV, a Washington State nonprofit project developing open, free assistive-TV tools for memory care, caregivers, accessibility, and public benefit. We currently use CareTV.org as the primary project domain. We are interested in CareTV.com only as a public-benefit redirect to CareTV.org, mainly to reduce confusion for families and caregivers who may type .com by habit. We are not a commercial buyer or domain reseller, and we cannot justify a premium commercial-domain price. If the owner would consider a nonprofit/public-benefit sale, donation, or deeply discounted transfer, I would be grateful to discuss it. Thank you for considering it. ________________________________________ From: Monte Cahn Sent: Friday, August 14, 2026 9:23 AM To: Ken Meyering Subject: Re: Offer for domain caretv.com Thank you for your interest and initial offer in this super premium domain name. I understand that you are treating CareTV.com as a premium commercial domain. My inquiry was made for a different reason. CareTV is a Washington State DBA/trade name of Open Access Media Lab, and CareTV.org is being developed as an open, free, nonprofit assistive-TV project for memory care, caregivers, accessibility, and public benefit. We would use CareTV.com only as a redirect to CareTV.org to reduce confusion for families and caregivers who may type .com by habit. Because this is a nonprofit accessibility project, we cannot enter a five-figure commercial-domain negotiation. My $1,000 offer was a serious public-benefit offer, not a starting point for a premium-domain bidding process. If the owner would ever consider a donation, public-benefit transfer, or deeply discounted nonprofit sale, I would be grateful to discuss it. Otherwise, I understand, and we will continue building the project at CareTV.org. Thank you for considering it. People, in fact, type in the .com over any other extension, and because CareTV.com was established first, it carries the common law trademark rights over all other like domains and extensions such as .org. So it would be legally smart to purchase the .com ASAP, as anyone who buys it could legally file a UDRP and shut your .org site down. The current owners could do the same, but they are more interested in selling it at this point rather than building the healthcare site there designing a few years ago. I would re-evaluate your position…. let me know Best Regards, Monte Cahn President / Founder RightOfTheDot.com www.ROTD.com +1.954.288.6810 ________________________________________ From: Ken Meyering Sent: Friday, August 14, 2026 10:19 AM To: Monte Cahn Subject: Re: Offer for domain caretv.com Hi Monte, Thank you for your reply. I understand your position that the seller views CareTV.com as a premium commercial domain. Our position remains the same: Open Access Media Lab DBA CareTV is a nonprofit/public-benefit project using CareTV.org for open, free assistive-TV work related to memory care, caregivers, accessibility, and education. CareTV.com would be useful to us only as a public-benefit redirect to CareTV.org. We cannot enter a five-figure commercial-domain purchase. Our $1,000 offer was a serious nonprofit accessibility offer, not the opening bid in a premium-domain negotiation. I also understand that you have raised trademark and UDRP concerns. I am not going to debate legal claims over email. If needed, we will seek appropriate legal advice regarding our nonprofit name, DBA, CareTV.org, and any trademark questions. If the owner is willing to consider a donation, public-benefit transfer, or substantially discounted nonprofit sale, we remain interested. Otherwise, we will continue building the project at CareTV.org. Thanks. We cannot do five figures. We’ll continue at CareTV.org and get legal advice if necessary.
