SSA-relevant distinction

The public software work was possible only because it was self-directed, home-based, AI-assisted, irregular, and performed without commute, supervision, meetings, customer deadlines, or a fixed sleep/wake schedule.

Functional statement draft

Even with complete freedom from schedule demands, I cannot reliably initiate, sustain, or complete programming work. Productivity occurs only during irregular hypomanic or highly activated periods. I cannot voluntarily schedule that state or rely on it. This pattern is incompatible with sustained competitive employment.
